This tea cup is made from high quality authentic Jingdezhen white porcelain with a traditional Luo Han shape. The classic Luo Han cup is associated with Zen in Chinese tea culture. It has a slightly smaller mouth and wider belly, representing Buddhism's big-heartedness and acceptance. The rounded shape indicates stability and a peaceful mental state, very suitable for a personal collection.

Figure painting on porcelain is regarded highly treasured as it requires the high level of craftmanship, attained only through talent and decades of training. The art work is inspired by the great ancient Chinese monk and poet Han Shan 寒山 from the Tang dynasty. The painting shows the poet sitting on a rock under a willow tree, meditating and contemplating. On the other side of the cup is one of Han Shan's poems, which are typically witty and full of Zen philosophy. The poem says, "垂柳暗如烟，飞花飘似散"。
