$ 175.00

This rare and exceptional vintage tea hails from the renowned Menghai Tea Factory, established in 1940 in Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Prefecture. Once a state-run entity until 2004, the factory now stands as a modern Pu-erh tea power house. This particular tea is a true rarity—a genuine vintage from the storied first grade (Jia Ji) loose leaf quality.

Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province and the heart of Pu-erh tea production, is a revered location for dry storage in the Pu-erh community. This exceptional tea was meticulously stored for over 23 years in Kunming before being shipped to Virginia, USA. It embodies the essence of the finest aged tea, with unique attributes that set it apart from the more common wet storage teas from Guangdong Province. While many vintage teas are either poorly stored or fabricated, this offering is the real deal—an authentic and rare gem that Victoria was fortunate to acquire during her extended stay in Kunming in 2023.

Upon tasting, the tea reveals a remarkable clean floral profile, complemented by a full-bodied, silky liquor. The aged character is beautifully expressed through subtle notes of Jing sheng, dates, and fruit, a rare find that captures the true essence of well-aged Pu-erh tea.

To break off leaves from the Tuo, starting from the outside edge, use a tea knife or tea pick, penetrate downward and gradually pry off the leaves from the Tuo.
