Gaolingtu is very fine and off white with a slightly blue undertone, and it exhibits the luminescence that is characteristic of spectacular Jingdezhen porcelain. It is very scarce nowadays and finished wares are more costly too. To be sure, the vast majority of large volume, low-quality Jingdezhen wares on the market don't incorporate Gaolingtu clay material.
