This gorgeous teapot is an original creation, handcrafted by senior master Qian. The original teapot won the gold medal in the Fourteenth Exhibition of China Arts and Crafts Exhibition in 2012. Chinese have a long history of cultivating orchids for thousands of years and they has been cherished for their beauty and character, especially by the elites and scholars historically. Chinese orchids usually have slender leaves, small blossoms, and most notably, a delicate fragrance. The aroma of the orchid has been regarded as the "Number one fragrance under heaven". Orchid is regarded as symbol of nobility and self-cultivation for gentlemen. Also an "orchid heart" and an "orchid-shaped finger" are commonly used for describing a graceful lady.

The composition of this teapot is designed to represent a Chinese orchid, with the spout acting as the tip of a leaf, which stretches through the body's waist line to the opposite side handle. The handle is shaped as a curved leaf, with the top bead on the lid formed into a budding orchid flower. The body, bead, spout, and handle come together as a whole gracefully. The center of the teapot features an engraved orchid, with a famous poem from the greatest poet Du Fu (杜甫) of the Tang dynasty on the other side. The poem has two famous lines, stating that "the fragrance comes solely from the heaven, only so many times can be smelled on earth."

锦城丝管日纷纷,半入江风半入云。此香只因天上有,人间能得几回闻。
