Wuyi Rock Oolong Rou Gui Golden Chair Jin Jiao Yi
Golden Chair, Jin Jiao Yi in Chinese, is a famous Wuyi oolong from the micro terroir where it is on the upper side rocky area cross from the most famous Niu Lan Keng Rou Gui known as "the Beef". The connoisseurs' society give it a nickname the small beef, or "beef on the cow's back". Golden Contact Chair peak looks like a chair, Chinese folks think it has good Feng Shui, so the name. This area is at the very heart of the core producing area of Wuyi rock oolong, withing the world heritage site of Wuyi Mountains. Due to its unique micro terroir, it gets direct sunlight as well as stretch down to the lower streams, the taste is complex with both strong floral and cinnamon spiciness. The soil has abundant deposit of minerals which makes the tea has the minerality in taste.
The dry leaves are deep dark brown, tightly twisted, and moderately roasted by Master Liu Qing, one of the rising tea masters inherited from his tea family. The liquor is deep reddish orange. It is very fragrant and floral, with undertone of peach floral, orchid and chrysanthemum floral. The floral is soaked in the liquor, and very delicate. You can expect the liquor is very fruity, with notes of stone fruits, pomegranate, pear, peach, almond, well-round, full bodied, very smooth, with sweet aftertaste. You can notice the cinnamon fragrance in the liquor, the lid, and the cup. Every steep is delicious with different and complex taste, demonstrating the very best essence of what Wuyi rock oolong is known for, " Rock bone, floral fragrance." It is indeed one of the gastronomic delicacies of Wuyi rock oolong.
